Ingredients to make Karuveppilai Podi (Curry Leaves - Kadi Pattha Powder)

  • curry leaves - One cup Packed
  • Urad Dhal - 3 Spoons
  • red chilli - 4 Nos
  • salt to taste
  • Hinge - Small Amount

How to make Karuveppilai Podi (Curry Leaves - Kadi Pattha Powder)

  1. Wash Curry Leaves well. Put on a soft towel. Cover it well. Let the water get absorbed. Dry it in shade. It should be free of moisture.
  2. In a pan, fry Urad Dhal and Red Chilli for few minutes. When the dhal becomes Golden in colour, add curry leaves fry for 30 seconds.
  3. Add Hing, Salt
  4. Grind all the ingredients into a fine powder.

My Tip:

Always use rock salt as it is rich in micro minerals. Use compound hinge to add flavour and taste. This is a multipurpose powder. This can be added with rice and can be taken as kuruvepillai sadham, This can be sprinkled over dosa and can be served. With Dosa it can be used as follows: 1. Can be sprinkled as it is 2 Can be sprinkeld along with cheese 3. Make a small subjee with paneer, onion. With this add karuveppilai powder and sprinkle over dosa. Kids will love it.
