Ingredients to make Karvepillai Podi /Curry Leaves Powder

  • curry leaves - 1 cup
  • red chilli - 4
  • Urad dhal - 1spoon
  • Toor dhal -1 spoon
  • asafoetida -1 piece
  • salt -1/2 spoon

How to make Karvepillai Podi /Curry Leaves Powder

  1. Heat little oil in a pan and fry curry leaves (washed and dried) till it becomes crispy
  2. In same pan fry red chilli, urid dhal, toor dhal, asafoetida
  3. Now grind curry leaves along with salt first
  4. Once it is done add fried dhal and chilli mixture
  5. Grind it till become smooth powder
  6. This goes well with idli,dosa and hot steam rice with ghee

My Tip:

Add little jaggery to get lip smacking flavour
