ABOUT Karuvepilai Thogayal (Curry Leaves - Kadi Pattha Thogayal / Paste) RECIPE

This is a highly nutritious, healthy, traditional dish which is good for intestinal health. Curry Leaves apart from rich in B vitamins and fiber are also rich in minerals especially high in calcium. Pepper which is also high in minerals together with ginger improves / aids digestion. Pepper is rich in Vitamin K too. This dish stimulates the taste buds. Very good for kids and for all age group.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Urad Dhal - 2 Spoons
  2. Pepper - 1/2 spoon
  3. Green Chilli - 1
  4. Ginger - Small piece
  5. Coconut ( Grated) - 4 spoons
  6. Curry Leaves - One cup packed
  7. Salt and Hing to Taste

Instructions

  1. Wash curry Leaves and keep aside
  2. Fry Urad Dhal and Pepper in a pan.
  3. When the urad dhal becomes Golden Brown, Add Green Chilli and Curry Leaves and fry for 30 Seconds. Let it get cold
  4. Add Coconut, Ginger, salt and Hing to the fried ingredients
  5. Grind to a fine paste
