Ingredients to make Karuvepilai Thogayal (Curry Leaves - Kadi Pattha Thogayal / Paste)

  • Urad Dhal - 2 Spoons
  • pepper - 1/2 spoon
  • Green chilli - 1
  • ginger - Small piece
  • coconut ( Grated) - 4 spoons
  • curry leaves - One cup packed
  • salt and Hing to Taste

How to make Karuvepilai Thogayal (Curry Leaves - Kadi Pattha Thogayal / Paste)

  1. Wash curry Leaves and keep aside
  2. Fry Urad Dhal and Pepper in a pan.
  3. When the urad dhal becomes Golden Brown, Add Green Chilli and Curry Leaves and fry for 30 Seconds. Let it get cold
  4. Add Coconut, Ginger, salt and Hing to the fried ingredients
  5. Grind to a fine paste

My Tip:

This Dish (Thogayal) can be had with rice. It also goes very well with curd rice, Idli, dosa etc.
