ABOUT Curry Leaves Chutney RECIPE

It is one of the famous chutney of South. It is healthy as curry leaves are good for hair.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Curry patta leaves-1 cup
  2. Coconut grated-1/4 cup
  3. Urad dal-1tsp
  4. Chana dal-1tsp
  5. Mustard seeds-1tsp
  6. Ginger-1/2 inch piece
  7. Green chilli-3
  8. Asafoetida-1pinch
  9. Tamarind pulp -2tbsp
  10. oil- 2tbsp
  11. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse and dry the curry leaves or kadi patta with a clean kitchen towel.
  2. heat oil in a frying pan. then add mustard seeds and urad dal and chana dal red chili. allow the mustard seeds to crackle and the urad dal to get a reddish brown tinge.
  3. Add curry leaves .stir and fry the leaves with stirring continuously till they become slightly crisp. Add grated coconut and green chilli
  4. In a chutney grinder, add the curry leaves add ginger.mixture with some salt and water. grind all the ingredients to a smooth chutney. Add tamarind pulp.
  5. Pour in a serving bowl and serve the curry leaves chutney with upma, pakora, idli, dosa or medu vada or any snack.
