Awla/Indian Gooseberry Mukhwas

Ingredients to make Awla/Indian Gooseberry Mukhwas

  • 1 kg awla/indian gooseberry
  • 200 gram beetroot
  • 1/2 kg sugar
  • 2 tsp salt

How to make Awla/Indian Gooseberry Mukhwas

  1. Wash awla and wipe it with cloth.
  2. Grate all the awla in big tray or plate and remove all the seeds.
  3. Peel the beetroot and grate it.
  4. Mix grated beetroot, awla, sugar and salt .
  5. Cover the plate with thin cloth and keep it in sunlight.
  6. Dry it for 3-4days in sunlight.
  7. When it become dry transfer it in jar and tasty mukhwas is ready to eat.

Turn the mixture every day with a spoon so that it dries properly
