Ingredients to make Irani Samosa Using Phyllo Pastry Sheets

  • For Phyllo Pastry
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup or more luke warm water to make a soft dough
  • salt to taste
  • For Filling
  • 2 onions
  • 1 cup beatened rice/ poha
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • salt according to taste.
  • Handful of coriander and mint leaves chopped
  • 1 cup cornflour slurry
  • oil for frying

How to make Irani Samosa Using Phyllo Pastry Sheets

  1. Make a soft dough using the ingredients mentioned under pastry dough
  2. Divide the dough into equal parts
  3. Roll out each dough into chapati
  4. Now apply oil over each rolled out dough and apply oil and overlap it with other rolled out dough.
  5. Now roll this out into a big roti
  6. Place this over a baking pan and bake for 2 mins at 180 degrees C
  7. Remove from oven and separate each layer carefully and cut into strips
  8. Now for filling slice onions add in salt,chopped chilies ,all the spices powders,coriander and mint leaves and beatned rice/poya to it. Mix it well.
  9. Fill the sheets with filling seal edges with corn flour slurry.
  10. Deep fry them in hot oil.
  11. Serve hot with dip of your choice.
