Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Sorghum flour a cup
  2. Rice flour a cup
  3. Onion finely chopped 1
  4. Green chillies finely chopped 3
  5. Coriander leaves chopped a fistful
  6. Curry leaves also chopped few
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Cumin seeds a tsp
  9. Ginger paste or grated fresh ginger a tsp
  10. For the split gram chutney,,
  11. Split gram 1/2 a cup
  12. Coconut powder 2 tbsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Green chillies 2
  15. For the tempering,,
  16. Curry leaves and black mustard seeds along with 3 dry red chillies
  17. Oil a tbsp

Instructions

  1. Prepare a slightly thinner batter than the regular dosa batter.
  2. Mix well and start making right away or wait for 10 mins before proceeding. Always cook the dosa on medium flame.
  3. Don't try to spread much, just pour like we do for rava dosa.
  4. Cover it up after applying oil on to the dosa and it's corners.
  5. Once done flip it on to the other side.
  6. Make all in a similar fashion. It takes 3 mins each for every dosa you make. But trust me, it's worth the effort.
  7. Serve them hot with any chutney of your choice.
  8. I served them with split gram and coconut chutney.
  9. Roast the dal and the coconut on a low flame along with the minced garlic pod
  10. Add the chillies and grind to a paste using little water. You can adjust the water quantity accordingly. I added 3 to 4 tbsp water.
  11. Adjust the salt and add the tempering to it.
  12. It's done. Enjoy with your dosas or idlis.
