Chicken Do Pyaza

Ingredients to make Chicken Do Pyaza

  • 1kg - Chicken
  • 2 - medium onions (one chopped & one cut into large pieces)
  • 2 - medium tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp - ginger garlic paste
  • 200 gms - dahi/curd
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp - dhania powder
  • 1 tsp - jeera powder
  • 1 tbsp - garam masala
  • ghee as needed
  • 3 tbsp - cream
  • few Corriander leaves
  • few mint leaves
  • 1or 2 - greenchillies
  • 1 tbsp - kasoori methi
  • Salt as per taste

How to make Chicken Do Pyaza

  1. Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, salt and red chili powder for about 20 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste. When it turns brown add the chopped onions and cook till golden brown.
  3. Then add the tomato puree and little salt.
  4. Take the curd and add turmeric, red chili powder and mix well.
  5. Then add this curd mixture to the pan and cook for some time.
  6. Then add dhania powder, jeera powder and the marinated chicken and mix well.
  7. Then finally add the large cut onions, water and garam masala. Cook till the chicken is done.
  8. For garnishing heat 3 tbsp cream, coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies and kasoori methi and add it to the chicken before serving.
