Ingredients to make Kothambir wadi

  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1 cup (200 gms) chickpea flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tbsp of grated coconut
  • 1 finely chopped green chilli
  • Juice from half a lime
  • Little less than 1/2 cup water for kneading
  • oil for frying +1 tbsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Kothambir wadi

  1. In a large vessel add in coriander leaves,chickpea flour, rice flour,green chilli,cumin seeds,red chili powder,turmeric powder, salt, grated coconut,sugar,lemon juice and 1 tbsp oil.
  2. Mix this well and add water enough to make a soft dough.
  3. Let this rest for 2 mins.
  4. Grease a steamer plate and press down the dough in a circular form.
  5. Steam this for 10 mins.
  6. Once cooked. Cut into cubes.
  7. Heat oil in a deep skillet and fry the steamed cubes till golden brown.
  8. Serve hot with a cup of tea.
