Ingredients to make Pepper Sauce or Milagu Kozhumbu

  • Grind these ingredients after frying in oil -
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 5 indian long pepper known as pippali
  • 1 tsp toovar dal
  • 1 red chilly dried
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 tsp raw rice
  • asafoetida 1/4 tsp
  • Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp udad dal
  • curry leaves
  • 1 red chilli dried
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • Lime sized tamarind soaked in water

How to make Pepper Sauce or Milagu Kozhumbu

  1. Take a thick pan, add oil, put the seasoning add tamarind water
  2. This is the pippali or long pepper
  3. Add turmeric powder,salt,let it boil for few minutes
  4. Add the ground paste,and let it simmer till the oil floats.
  5. Serve with hot plain rice and ghee
  6. To be had once in a week .
