ABOUT Oats Chicken Cutlet RECIPE

A Cutlet or Croquette is a popular snack made from grounded meat or vegetables. This is a typical Kerala style Chicken Cutlet coated with Oats

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 200gms Boneless chicken breast
  2. 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  3. 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  4. 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  5. 1 Potato, boiled and mashed
  6. 1 tsp pepper powder
  7. 1 tsp garam masala
  8. 1/2 cup oats, ground coarsely
  9. 1 egg white, beaten
  10. 1 sprig curry leaves, finely chopped
  11. oil for deep frying
  12. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the minced chicken in 1 tsp oil. Remove to cool.
  2. In a pan, add 2 tsp of oil and add onion. Saute till soft. Add green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and curry leaves. Saute again.
  3. Add the cooked chicken and mix. Add pepper powder. garam masala powder, salt. Mix and cook for a couple of minutes. Remove to cool.
  4. Add mashed potato and mix well. Make desired shapes from the mixture- heart, balls or circles for example.
  5. Dip each in beaten egg whites, then coat with oats and deep fry in oil.
  6. Serve with tomato ketchup and chopped onion.
