Plantain Peel Patties

Ingredients to make Plantain Peel Patties

  • Raw Plantain Peels (chopped finely) 1 cup
  • Soybean (soaked overnight) 1/2 cup
  • green chillies(chopped) 1
  • ginger(chopped finely) 1 tsp
  • coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  • chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • cumin powder 1/4 tsp
  • rice powder 2 tbsp
  • oil 4 tbsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Plantain Peel Patties

  1. Pressure cook the plantain peels and soybean adding salt and turmeric powder for 2 whistles or until cooked. Drain out water and keep aside.
  2. Once cooled, grind to a smooth paste.
  3. To this mixture add green chilli, ginger, garam masala powder, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander leaves and salt.Mix well. Now add rice flour to the mixture little by little till you get the required consistency.
  4. Make lemon sized balls out of the mixture and flatten into any desired shape.
  5. Heat oil in pan and shallow fry the patties until golden brown.
  6. Serve the patties with ketchup.
