Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Channa (white or black ) -1 glass
  2. For Tempering- Mustard 1 spoon
  3. Urid dhal 1 spoon
  4. Red chilli 2
  5. Curry leaves 1/2 cup
  6. Asafoetida 1 pinch
  7. Salt as required
  8. Coconut grated 1/4 cup
  9. Oil 2 spoons

Instructions

  1. Soak Channa over night 7-8 hours.
  2. Drain water and wash it well again
  3. Pressure Cook Channa by adding half glass water and little salt
  4. Cook for 3-4 whistles
  5. Once it is done keep it aside.
  6. Take a flat pan fry mustard wait till it splutters.
  7. Add urid dhal,red chilli , curry leaves & asafoetida.
  8. Add Channa and fry for 5-6 mins
  9. Water Should dry completely deep fry till then.
  10. Add grated coconut and fry for 3mins .Transfer to bowl.
  11. Serve
