ABOUT Onion Tamarind Chutney RECIPE

A very good appetizer and also my heirloom recipe which I learnt from my mother-in-law. It can stored for 2-3 days without refrigerator.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Onion big - 2
  2. Kashmiri red chilli - 5
  3. Tamarind - size of a lemon
  4. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the tamarind in 1/2 cup water to make a pulp.
  2. Fry Kashmiri red chilli with little oil. Keep aside
  3. Chop onions roughly and add it to the mixer with fried red chillies and salt. Make a coarse paste.
  4. Squeeze the tamarind and discard the pulp. Add the onion paste into the tamarind water and mix well.
  5. Chutney is ready to serve.
  6. No need to store this chutney in fridge. Stays good for 2-3 days.
