Nargisi Koftas

Ingredients to make Nargisi Koftas

  • Mutton keema 500gms
  • Raw papaya paste with the peel 50gms
  • salt to taste
  • chilly Powder 1tsp
  • ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
  • Fried onion paste 2tbsp
  • Green chilly finely chopped
  • garam masala powder 1tsp
  • lemon juice 1tbsp
  • Boiled eggs 4
  • Few drops of kewra and mitha ittar
  • 2 eggs
  • oil for frying

How to make Nargisi Koftas

  1. Marinate the mutton keema with 25gms of raw papaya and all other ingredients except salt and garam masala.
  2. Keep this marinade in refrigerator for at least 12hrs. Recommended time 24hrs
  3. Once you take out the marinated keema mix the remaining papaya pulp, garam masala and salt.
  4. Now grind this in a mixer.
  5. Add the flavouring agents - ittar and kewra.
  6. Take one boiled egg at a time and coat with the minced mutton. Follow this for other 3 eggs too
  7. Now dip this into the egg batter and deep fry in oil.
  8. Serve

My Tip:

Prick the boiled eggs before coating with the mutton mixture. It may burst otherwise. You can also add 1 tbsp of roasted besan for binding. Serve with green salad and sauce of your choice.
