Chakli

Ingredients to make Chakli

  • 3 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour (maida)
  • 1/2 cup homemade white butter
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds (white til)
  • 1 tsp garlic ginger green chili paste
  • water for making dough as required
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make Chakli

  1. take all flour in a bowl
  2. add remaing ingrediants except water and oil. mix well
  3. add water and prepare a medium stiff dough
  4. apply some oil in the chakli maker and place a portion of the dough inside it
  5. tighten the lid and press the chakli maker to prepare the chakli
  6. move in rounds to get a spiral shape. make the chaklis on a plate.
  7. heat oil in a kadhai. lift the chakli gently and slid into the hot oil.
  8. fry 3 to 4 chaklis at a time on a medium to slow flame till brown and crispy
  9. make the remaining chaklis in the same way.
  10. once the chaklis are cooled at room tempreture then store them in air tight box
  11. serve as a snack with chai

My Tip:

1- if the chaklis breaks while forming them this means that the dough does not have enough moisture. add 1-2 tbsp of water and knead the dough again. 2- of you are not getting proper shape this means that the dough is too moist. add some flour and knead again.
