Ingredients to make Naan khatai

  • flour 1 1/4 cup
  • Gram flour 1/4 cup
  • Fine unroasted semolina 1 tbsp
  • Baking powder 1 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee/butter 1 cup softened
  • Powdered sugar 1 cup
  • Cardomon powder 1 tsp

How to make Naan khatai

  1. Slice almonds and keep aside.
  2. In a bowl sift together flour, semolina, gram flour and baking powder and keep aside.
  3. In a separate bowl add in ghee, sugar and cardamon powder and beat with electric beater until stiff peaks form .
  4. Once stiff peaks form then add flour. Mix the flour in three batches and form a dough .
  5. Roll the dough and make small balls. Keep the balls on a baking paper leaving some distance between the balls.
  6. Put the almond slices on top and press a little and bake at 200 degree Celsius for 25 mins.
  7. Once done remove and let it cool and store in jar or have it fresh.

My Tip:

If you do not prefer cardamom then you can add 1 tsp vanilla.
