ABOUT Cabbage Samosa RECIPE

Yummy samosas with a spicy cabbage based filling and fried to perfection! This recipe is brought to you in association with the Murugappa Group for the Superfoods Campaign.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Maida 1 cup
  2. Oil 1 tbsp
  3. Salt 1 tsp
  4. Warm water to knead the dough
  5. Cabbage 1/2 cup (finely shredded)
  6. Boiled peas 2 tbsp
  7. Ginger (grated) 2 tsp
  8. Pepper powder 1 tsp
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Soya sauce 2 tsp
  11. Oil 1 tbsp + for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine maida, oil and salt in a bowl. Knead it into a dough using water and keep aside.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add ginger and saute.
  3. Add cabbage and peas and season them with salt and pepper.
  4. Let them sweat a little and add the soya sauce.
  5. Take out the prepared mixture onto a plate and let cool, make sure it is absolutely dry.
  6. Take a small portion of the dough and roll out into a small circle. Cut into half.
  7. Place 2 tbsp of the cabbage mixture and fold into a triangle/samosa shape. Set aside.
  8. Repeat the process with the remaining dough and cabbage mixture.
  9. Heat enough oil in a large pan. Fry the prepared triangle until golden.
  10. Drain the fried samosas on absorbent paper. Serve hot.
