Ingredients to make Marinars sauce

  • tomatoes 2 large
  • Red onion 1, finely chopped
  • carrot 1 big, peeled and chopped
  • garlic cloves 4 finely chopped
  • Fresh basil handfull, chopped
  • pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  • Pinch of sugar
  • tomato puree 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • Oregano 1/2 tsp
  • olive oil 1 tsp
  • Any sea food like fish, squid, shrimps etc 1/4 cup

How to make Marinars sauce

  1. Heat a saucepan on medium heat. Add olive oil. Once the oil is warm, add garlic and onion. Saute it till it becomes soft and translucent. Be careful not to burn the onion.
  2. Now add the chopped tomatoes and stir well. Cook till it becomes soft. Add the tomato puree.
  3. Let the mixture cook for 8 minutes on low heat.
  4. Once the mixture gets cooked and oil get separated then turn off the heat.
  5. Add sea food, turn on the gas and cook it for 5 min. Now let it cool.
  6. At this stage add basil and blend the sauce to a smooth consistency.
  7. Season the sauce with pepper powder,sugar, oregano,and salt. Adjust the seasoning as per your taste.
  8. Use it as a pizza or sandwich spread. Enjoy.

My Tip:

If you want a veg sauce then do not add sea food.
