Pasta Spirals with Pesto Sauce

Ingredients to make Pasta Spirals with Pesto Sauce

  • 150 gram pasta spirals (fusilli)
  • 25 grams fresh basil leaves, without the stalks
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp Pine nuts / walnuts
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 25 gram freshly grated Cheese ( Parmesan)
  • Fresh Basil sprigs to garnish
  • salt to taste

How to make Pasta Spirals with Pesto Sauce

  1. Cook the pasta following the instructions on the packet until al dente (to the tooth).
  2. To make the pesto sauce, place the basil leaves, garlic, walnuts, seasoning and olive oil in a food processor or blender. Blend until very creamy.
  3. Drain the pasta thoroughly and turn it into a mixing bowl. Pour the sauce and grated cheese and toss to coat.
  4. Divide among the serving plates and serve, sprinkled with the extra cheese and garnished with fresh basil sprigs.

My Tip:

Freshly made pesto sauce lends a fragrant and flavorful taste to the pasta as compared to the store bought ones.
