Idli Chilli Dry

Ingredients to make Idli Chilli Dry

  • Idlis 4-5 cut into pieces
  • onion (diced ) 1
  • capsicum (cut into big pieces ) 1
  • Bell pepper (yellow and red cut into big pieces) 1/2 each
  • Spring onions (chopped) 2
  • olive oil 2 tablespoon
  • Chopped garlic 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped ginger 1 teaspoon
  • Sliced green chilli 1 or 2 ( as hot and spicy you like)
  • Soy sauce 1 teaspoon
  • vinegar 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chilli sauce 1 teaspoon
  • tomato ketchup 2 teaspoon
  • Corn flour 1 teaspoon mixed in 2-3 tablespoon water

How to make Idli Chilli Dry

  1. Mix all sauces (soy sauce, vinegar, chilli sauce, tomato ketchup) in a bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add green chilli, ginger, garlic, spring onions (green), onion, capsicum and bell pepper. Saute on high flame.
  3. Add mixture of sauces and corn flour which is mixed in water. Keep stirring
  4. Add salt if required (All sauces contain and so taste and then add if required)
  5. Lastly add pieces of idlis and saute.
  6. Transfer into serving plate . Garnish with chopped spring onions (green) . Serve hot.

My Tip:

You can deep fry idlis. I wanted to avoid calories intake and that is why I didn't fry them. You can add 1 tbsp schezwan sauce too.
