Ingredients to make Green peas and potato cutlet

  • Green peas 300 gm
  • potato medium size 2
  • Chopped onion 2
  • garlic paste 1 tspn
  • ginger paste 1 tspn
  • Chopped green chilies 1 tspn
  • Breadcrumb as needed
  • Bread 2 pieces
  • Chopped coriander 1 tbspn
  • egg 2
  • salt as needed
  • turmeric 1 tspn
  • Refined oil as needed

How to make Green peas and potato cutlet

  1. Boil potato and green peas in a steamer or pressure cooker with a little bit of salt.
  2. Mash them with a fork or hand. It should be slightly chunky.
  3. Add garlic, ginger, onion, turmeric, salt, coriander and bread with the mashed potatoes and peas.
  4. Mix everything very well and check the taste and add salt if required.
  5. In another small bowl add eggs and a little bit of salt.
  6. Stir and mix well.
  7. Now shape the peas mixture into medium sized oval cutlet by flattening the portions in palms.
  8. Heat oil for deep frying in a kadai.
  9. Take a cutlet and dip in the beaten egg gently.
  10. Then coat the cutlet in breadcrumbs.
  11. And then deep fry.
  12. Drain the cutlet on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  13. Do the same process with the other one.
  14. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.

My Tip:

You can also shallow fry or pan fry the cutlets.
