Beetroot and Vegetable Chops

Ingredients to make Beetroot and Vegetable Chops

  • 2 medium beetroots, boiled and grated
  • 1 cup beans, cut very finely
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp roasted jeera powder
  • 3 tbsp roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder or chilli paste
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • oil for Deep frying
  • 1/2 tsp anar dana powder
  • 3 cups bread crumbs
  • salt to taste

How to make Beetroot and Vegetable Chops

  1. Heat the oil and fry the beans and the peas and cook covered with a lid till the beans are tender but not overcooked.
  2. Mix in the grated beetroot.
  3. Add the salt, spices and the peanuts and continue to stir and cook till most of the moisture from the beetroot is soaked in.
  4. Divide the mixture into portions.
  5. Shape each portion into cylindrical or round chops.
  6. Roll each of the chops in bread crumbs and fry in hot oil. Turn once or twice so that both sides of the chops are fried and crispy.
  7. Take care to fry only 2 or 3 chops at one time.
  8. Serve
