Ingredients to make Oat Cookies

  • 120 grams butter
  • 200 grams Brown Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 150 grams Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 150 grams Rolled Oats

How to make Oat Cookies

  1. Use a hand or stand mixer to cream the butter and brown sugar till smooth and light. Add the egg and then the vanilla essence.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder and set aside.
  3. Slowly add the flour mix into the butter/sugar/egg mix and bring it together into a dough with a wooden spoon.
  4. Prepare a cookie tray and preheat oven at 180 degree Celsius.
  5. Drop heaped tablespoons full of dough on the sheet, gently flatten and bake at 180 degrees for 8-10 minutes or till the cookies are firm and light brown.
  6. Serv warm with a glass of milk or a cup of tea as desired.
My Tip: These cookies work very well with peanuts. You can add a handful of roasted peanuts to the recipe.
