ABOUT American Chopsuey with garlic bread RECIPE

This recipe is wholemeal in itself as this is made with vegetables in tomato gravy and to be eaten with garlic bread. Learnt this recipe from my Aunt.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 7 to 8 - medium size tomatoes
  2. Make a paste of:
  3. Garlic flakes - 10
  4. Green chillies - 2
  5. Ginger - 1 inch
  6. Noodles (Maggie chotu pack boiled & drained)
  7. Tomato chilli sauce - 1 tbsp
  8. 1 tsp - sugar
  9. Cornflour - 2 tbsp
  10. Onion - 1
  11. Cabbage - 50 gms
  12. Bell peppers/capsicum - 1
  13. carrots - 1
  14. 1/2 cup - mushrooms
  15. Zucchini - 1
  16. French beans - 4
  17. Babycorns corns - 1/4 cup
  18. spring onion - 2 to 3
  19. some parsley chopped
  20. sugar - 1 tsp
  21. Salt to taste
  22. Red chili/Lalmirch powder - 1 tbsp
  23. Garlic Bread to serve with the dish.

Instructions

  1. For Tomato gravy: Take 7-8 medium size tomatoes, pressure cook them with water and salt. Cool it and keep water for making gravy. Simultaneously saute all the chopped vegetable also.
  2. In a heavy bottom pan take olive oil. Saute garlic-green chili-ginger paste. Now put chopped onions. Saute.
  3. Add all sauted vegetables. Add pureed tomatoes. Add salt and lal mirch powder.
  4. Add remaining water of boiled tomatoes. Keep on stirring. Add boiled noodles. Put sugar. Now to thicken the gravy, add cornflour, diluted in water.
  5. Garnish with parsley and spring onions.
  6. Serve with buttered garlic bread slices.
