Orange Cake

Ingredients to make Orange Cake

  • 250 grams Flour
  • 180 grams Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 220 grams Butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 75 ml Orange Juice freshly squeezed
  • 4 Eggs

How to make Orange Cake

  1. Cream the butter and sugar till light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes on medium. Add the vanilla essence and the eggs one at a time, mixing well with each addition.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder, add the flour mix to the wet ingredients in two parts alternating with the orange juice.
  3. Grease or line a baking dish, 9” round pan will do. Pour in the batter, gently tap to settle it.
  4. Preheat oven to 200C, bake for 25-30 minutes or till a skewer comes out clean.
My Tip: To add more orange flavour, you can add ½ tsp of grated orange rind in the batter.
