Ingredients to make Raw Banana And Yellow Peas Patties

  • 1 Raw banana
  • 1/4 cup dried yellow peas
  • 2 tbsp besan flour
  • 1 tbsp chopped mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 green chilly, chopped finely
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1/4 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp channa masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp semolina
  • salt
  • coconut oil for frying

How to make Raw Banana And Yellow Peas Patties

  1. Wash the yellow peas in cold water for 3 times. Soak them with 1 cup of water for 4 hours.
  2. Cut the ends of the banana and cut into two parts. Take a pressure cooker and add 1/2 cup of water. Place the banana and pressure cook for 3 whistles. Open the cooker and allow them to cool. Then peel the skin and place them in a mixing bowl.
  3. Drain the water completely from the soaked peas. Heat a pan and add the soaked peas to it. Saute it for 2 minutes.
  4. Then add it to the chutney jar. Grind it coarsely without any water.
  5. Now peel and shred the banana finely. Then mash them with your hands nicely. Then add the ground peas and all the ingredients one by one except oil.
  6. Mix it well.
  7. Then roll the mixture into small lemon sized balls. Flatten them into a small patties.
  8. Add the semolina on a plate. Dust the patties in them.
  9. Heat 2 to 3 tbsp coconut oil in a flat pan. When the oil becomes hot reduce the heat and place the patties. Shallow fry the patties until crisp on both sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  10. Serve the patties with tomato ketchup.
