Saag of Pahadi Palak and Bathua

Ingredients to make Saag of Pahadi Palak and Bathua

  • 1 bunch pahadi palak cleaned
  • 1 bunch bathua cleaned
  • 1 tsp Kasuri methi
  • 1 tbsp makki ka aata roasted
  • 10-12 garlic cloves chopped
  • 2 small onions chopped
  • 2 small tomatoes chopped
  • 7-8 green chillies
  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp mustard Oil
  • 1 tbsp Desi ghee

How to make Saag of Pahadi Palak and Bathua

  1. Clean and wash the palak and bathua. Now put this in a cooker and add garlic, green chillies, ginger, 1 cup water and pressure cook for two whistles. Let it cool down
  2. Blend this to make a puree.
  3. Now take a wok. Heat mustard oil. Add chopped onions. saute till golden brown.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes. cook for a minute. Add red chilli powder, Salt, kasuri methi and roasted makki ka aata. Add Desi ghee also
  5. Let the Masala cook on a slow flame till oil separates. Keep stirring.
  6. Now add the puree. Cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Serve
