Instant Rava/Suji Idli

Ingredients to make Instant Rava/Suji Idli

  • Rava/Suji 1/2 kg
  • curd 1 cup
  • water 2 cups
  • baking soda 1 pinch
  • salt according to your taste

How to make Instant Rava/Suji Idli

  1. In a big bowl add suji, curd, baking soda and water. Add salt and keep it for half an hour.
  2. Whisk really well. Add more water to make it like normal Idli batter. It shouldn't be too thick nor too runny.
  3. Meanwhile grease all the cavities of your Idli stand. Preheat your Idli stand by adding water into it and keep it ready for steaming.
  4. Fill all the cavities of idli stand and steam your idlis for around 15-20 minutes.
  5. Switch off the gas if a knife comes out clean after digging into your Idli.
  6. Leave it for 5 more minutes in the idli stand. Take out your cavity plates and let it cool down a bit.
  7. Run a knife around all the idlis. Idli will easily come out. Serve with chatni or sambhar. I ate it with Nariyal & Dhaniya chatni
