Tangy Fruit Chaat

Ingredients to make Tangy Fruit Chaat

  • Fruits for this recipe:
  • 1 big apple(Red Delicious Fuji or Washington) – chopped
  • 100 gms - red grapes(big ones halved)
  • 1 big Pear – chopped in quarters
  • 1 big or 2 small bananas – sliced
  • 1 Kiwi Fruit – the brown hairy skin peeled and chopped
  • 2 tbsp - pomegranate pearls
  • The spice powders:
  • 2 tsp Rock Salt (sendha namak)
  • 1 tsp rosted cumin Seeds powder(Jeera)
  • 1 & 1/2 tsp powdered sugar
  • Ingredients for extra taste:
  • 2 Green chilies – very finely minced
  • 1 tbsp very finely chopped coriander Leaves (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon Juice

How to make Tangy Fruit Chaat

  1. Put all the chopped fruits except Pomegranate pearls in a large bowl.
  2. Add the spice powders and the Green Chilies. Mix in the lemon juice.Toss very well to mix.
  3. Spoon four equal portions of the fruit mix into four Chaat plates and sprinkle with the Pomegranate pearls!
  4. Serve with fancy fruit forks or toothpicks,exactly as you would serve any Chaat! Enjoy to the utmost by having one piece of fruit at a time!

My Tip:

There is no limit for the variety of fruits you take.Take the general and seasonal fruits and mix them up or take only one variety – whatever you want.Custard Apple is one such fruit which is very difficult to add here but if you can take the pulp out nothing like it! However I will provide a list of fruits which will go very well with the recipe: Apple, Banana, Grapes – green,black,purple or red varieties. Pear, Kiwi Fruit, Pomegranate, Mango You can substitute Rock Salt (Sendha Namak) for Black Salt and Common Salt when not fasting.
