Ingredients to make Jhatpat Bhalle

  • Bread (white or brown) - 4 slices
  • Sweetened yoghurt - 1 cup
  • chilli powder or black pepper - 1 tsp
  • cumin powder - 1/2 tsp (roasted)
  • Chaat masala - 1 tsp
  • Black salt - 1 tsp

  • Green coriander chutney - 2 to 3 tsp

How to make Jhatpat Bhalle

  1. Whisk the yogurt and add sugar, salt, black salt, chaat masala, black pepper powder to it. Mix and keep aside.
  2. Prepare the bread vadas using a steel bowl to cut into a round shape. Use a smaller bottle cover for cutting the center. Cut all the 4 bread slices and keep aside.
  3. Spread the green chutney and put the crushed nuts mixture in the cut bread vadas. Cover with the remaining roundels.
  4. To assemble the snack, first pour half of the yogurt mixture in the serving bowl. Arrange the bread on the yogurt.
  5. Add rest of the yogurt. Top with sweet chutney, chili powder, roasted cumin powder and chaat masala.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves, sev and pomegranate. Refrigerate for 5-10 minutes and serve chilled Bread Dahi Vada.

My Tip:

Make curd sweet and spicy by adding sugar, blacksalt, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder.
