ABOUT Suran (Elephant foot) Tikki RECIPE

To avoid potatoes you can try suran tikki. Just amazing. It is high in fiber, good for people with piles.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Suran(elephant foot yam) -500gms
  2. tamarind or kokam 4-5 piece
  3. Onion - 1 medium
  4. coriander powder -1 tsp
  5. green chilli or red chilli - 1 tsp
  6. Cumin powder- 1 tsp
  7. Chat masala - 1 tsp
  8. coriander leaves / dhaniya patta- 1tsp
  9. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut and boil suran with tamarind or kokam in a pressure cooker, give 2 whistles.
  2. Take out suran ,cool it and mash it.
  3. Now add all the ingredients like onion,salt,chili,coriander leaves,coriander ,cumin powder,chat masala and mix it well.
  4. Make small tikkis. give any shape you like and shallow fry it from both sides.
  5. serve it with laddi pao(bread) and green chutney.
