Zero Oil Cirtrus French Toasts

Ingredients to make Zero Oil Cirtrus French Toasts

  • Bread- 10 slices
  • egg- 6
  • Milk- 1 cup
  • Orange Juice-/4 cup
  • Orange zest- tbsp
  • sugar- 1 tbsp
  • Ground cinnamon-1 tsp
  • Ground nutmeg-½ tsp
  • salt- 1/8 tsp or 1 pinch

How to make Zero Oil Cirtrus French Toasts

  1. Crack eggs in a large bowl and whisk lightly. Add milk slowly and whisk to mix nicely.
  2. Add orange juice and rest of the ingredients and whisk lightly.
  3. Arrange the bread slices in the rectangular/square casserole pan in a single layer.
  4. Pour the egg batter on the top of the slices to dip them completely. Cover the pan and refrigerate until you are ready to bake.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line in the baking pan with non-stick baking paper. Or any nonstick baking pan will work fine for the same.
  6. Remove the bread soaked pan from the refrigerator and arrange the bread slices in the baking pan carefully in a single layer.
  7. Bake the toasts for 10-12 mins at 180°C; remove from oven, flip and bake for another 10 mins or until bread has golden brown crust on the sides.
  8. Remove the toasts from oven and serve immediately. Ideally the French toasts are served warm with maple syrup and butter.

My Tip:

Use any other pulpy fruit juice and follow the base recipe for the rest. Use brown sugar or molasses or condensed milk instead of regular sugar.
