ABOUT Chocochips Christmas Cake RECIPE

A quick and easy to make delicious mouth watering chocolate cream cake with choco chips layers.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. For Cake -
  2. 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  3. 1/4 cup water
  4. 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  5. 1/8 tsp salt
  6. 1/4 tsp instant coffee powder
  7. 1/2 cup sugar ( powdered)
  8. 2 tbsp yogurt/curd
  9. 1/4 cup buttermilk
  10. 2.5 tbsp oil
  11. 1/8 tsp Baking powder
  12. 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  13. For making ganache and for decorating -
  14. 75 ml fresh cream/heavy cream
  15. 110 gms amul dark chocolate
  16. 2 tbsp fresh cream/heavy cream
  17. chocolate chips, as required

Instructions

  1. For batter, Sieve all purpose flour and cocoa powder. In a mixing bowl add 1/2 cup all purpose flour & 3 tbsp cocoa powder 1/4 tsp baking soda & 1/8 tsp baking powder and 1/8 tsp salt Stir it well until everything is mixed properly
  2. Take one cup water and put 1/4 tsp instant coffee powder in it and stir it In another mixing bowl add the following- 1/4 tsp coffee powder , 1/4 cup water, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 2 tbsp yogurt/curd, 1/4 cup buttermilk, 2.5 tbsp oil Whisk the above ingredients well
  3. Add ingredients (dry and wet) into a single bowl n whisk it well such that the batter is consistently thick. Do not over mix
  4. Grease the microwave oven container with butter and pour the batter into it . Microwave it for around 5 to 7 min & keep checking in between. In order to check whether its cooked well or not , insert a toothpick into the dough & check if no batter sticks to it. If batter sticks to the toothpick, let it cook for some more time.
  5. To prepare the ganache, take 75 ml fresh cream/heavy cream in a bowl. Heat the bowl until the cream just starts boiling. add dark chocolate and let it stay for 5 minutes then stir it until you get a shiny ganache
  6. To assemble, Slice the cake from the centre into two pieces and apply the ganache in the centre and on the top base as well.
  7. Decorate and give your cake a finishing touch with choco chips. You can however use other decorating stuff of your choice. Your yummy delicious Chocochips Christmas Cake is ready to serve!
