Apple Cinnamon Pie

Ingredients to make Apple Cinnamon Pie

  • Pie dough -
  • All-purpose flour- 2 1/2 cup
  • Cold butter 180gm
  • sugar 3tbsp
  • salt- 1 pinch
  • Ice-water or cold milk as required
  • Pie filling
  • apple (peeled and sliced) 3 to 4
  • sugar 3/4 cup
  • honey 2 tbsp
  • almond flakes 1 tbsp
  • cashewnuts chopped -1 tbsp
  • walnut chopped 1 tbsp
  • raisins 1 tbsp
  • Ready vanilla sponge 1 cup
  • cinnamon powder 1 tsp
  • Topping on pie -
  • apple slices 1-2
  • honey
  • sugar
  • apple glaze or sauce

How to make Apple Cinnamon Pie

  1. Mix all-purpose flour, salt, sugar in a large bowl add butter, rub in with fingertips to form a coarse meal-like texture. Mix ice-water or cold milk in a small bowl . Blend nicely then wrap in plastic film. refrigerate for 20 mins
  2. Pie filling -
  3. Take a pan heat butter, add chopped apple. Cook on medium flame till it becomes slightly dry. Add honey and , almond flakes, dry fruits and mix well, turn off the flame. Add vanilla sponge (crumbs) cinnamon powder mix well and let it cool
  4. Preheat the oven 180 degrees C
  5. Remove dough from refrigerator
  6. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 12 inches round . transfer to pie or tart dish
  7. Trim from edges and turn edges under crimp decoratively with knife
  8. Bake pie base for 8 to 10 mins
  9. Take baked pie base, add apple, cinnamon and mixture press it evenly. Place apple slices spread sugar and bake for 5 mins
  10. Garnish with honey, apple glaze or sauce.
  11. Serve hot or cold with tea or coffee
