Malai Kofta

Ingredients to make Malai Kofta

  • Milk 1 ltr
  • lemon 1
  • cashew nuts 50 gm
  • poppy seeds 2 table spoon
  • onion 1
  • ginger- garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  • tomato 1
  • 2 green chillies
  • sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Ghee/butter
  • Garam masala
  • turmeric Powder

How to make Malai Kofta

  1. Prepare the fresh paneer by squeezing the lemon juice into boiling milk
  2. Drain the excess water from the fresh paneer using a soft cotton cloth
  3. Knead the paneer very well using 1 tablespoon of all purpose flour
  4. Make round balls from the dough
  5. Fry these balls and place them on a kitchen towel
  6. In a kadai heat some oil and 1 table spoon of ghee
  7. Add garam masala in the hot oil
  8. Add onion and ginger garlic paste and fry till the mix is golden brown
  9. Add tomato and fry till the tomato is soft
  10. Add salt according to the taste
  11. Add paste of poppy seed and cashew nut paste and a pinch of turmeric powder
  12. Slow cook the mixture for 10 minutes and stir continuously
  13. When the oil separates from the mixture add paneer ball and sugar
  14. Cook for another 5 minutes and serve hot with fulkas

My Tip:

Paneer should be kneaded well so that the balls do not break
