Lasuni Methi Paneer

Ingredients to make Lasuni Methi Paneer

  • Cottage cheese or paneer - 150 gms
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Onions - 2 medium
  • Tomato - 1 big
  • Garlic cloves - 3 to 4
  • Pepper corns - 4 to 5
  • Cinnamon - 1 small stick
  • Cashew soaked in warm water - 4 to 5
  • Fresh cream - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Fresh methi or kasuri methi - 1 tbsp
  • Tomato ketchup - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Ajwain - 1/4 tsp
  • Butter or ghee as required
  • Kitchen king masala as per choice
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Fresh coriander chopped finely
  • Salt to taste

How to make Lasuni Methi Paneer

  1. Cut paneer into cubes and soak in warm water. Then take very little butter in a pan, saute the paneer cubes for 5-10 mins. Remove on a kitchen towel.
  2. Take a pan, add enough oil, add ajwain. Then add cinnamon, peppercorns and garlic cloves, saute till garlic is golden brown.
  3. Now roughly chop onions and add them, saute till golden brown. Immediately add roughly chopped tomatoes and saute well.
  4. Now add chili powder, turmeric, kitchen king masala and saute and take it off the flame to cool.
  5. Once cool add the soaked cashew to this mix and mixer grind to form a paste.
  6. Now take butter in a pan, add this paste, add the kasuri methi, ketchup, salt and bring to a boil. Add the fresh cream and milk and keep stirring.
  7. Add the paneer cubes and garnish with fresh coriander.
  8. Ready to serve piping hot with tandoori roti or nan :)
