ABOUT Twisted Banana Fosters RECIPE

Its an easy but tricky, American dish. Its flavour is classic and comforting.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For pancake appe -
  2. 1/2 cup refined flour
  3. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  4. 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  5. 1 Pinch orange zest
  6. 1 egg ( optional)
  7. For Crumble -
  8. 1/4 cup refined flour
  9. 1/4 cup Amul butter ( chilled)
  10. 1 tbsp sugar granules
  11. 1 tbsp sliced almonds
  12. For Mousse -
  13. 4 tbsp sugar
  14. 1 tbsp water
  15. 1 tbsp Amul butter
  16. 1 Banana
  17. 1 tbsp fresh cream
  18. 1 cup whipped cream
  19. For plating -
  20. Caramelized banana and orange segments and mint leaves.

Instructions

  1. Pancake appe -
  2. Take a bowl, add all the ingredients of pancake and make a lump free batter.
  3. Heat the greased appe pan, add batter to the cavities, and cook until golden colour from both sides.
  4. Crumble - Take all the ingredients of crumble In a bowl, and mix well with the fingers, its texture will be like wet sand.
  5. Spread on the baking tray and bake at 150 C till golden or crumbly.
  6. Caramel sauce +Mousse - Heat a pan add sugar and water, when it gets caramel colour, add butter and cream, mix well.
  7. Dip the appe in this caramal sauce from one side and place on a plate.
  8. In left over sauce add chopped banana and mix well. Now grind this caramal banana into grinder and take out in a bowl.
  9. Add whipped cream to it and lightly fold it. Mousse is ready. Add it to a piping bag.
  10. Take some orange segments and cut the banana vertically. Sprinkle the sugar and Star anise mixture on top of it. Caramelize it with the blow torch.
  11. Place every thing on your plate- caramelized banana and orange segments, crumble, mousse, pancake appe and garnish with mint leave.
