Maash Ki Daal (White lentils or Urad daal)

Ingredients to make Maash Ki Daal (White lentils or Urad daal)

  • White lentils or urad daal 1 1/2 cups soaked for 4 hours
  • onions 2 finely sliced and deep fried. (Optional)
  • garlic mince 1 tsp
  • ginger juliennes of 1" piece ginger
  • salt 1 tsp
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • coriander leaves finely chopped 3 to 4 tbsp
  • green chillies finely chopped 2 tbsp

How to make Maash Ki Daal (White lentils or Urad daal)

  1. Boil the daal with salt and keep aside.
  2. In a pan heat the ghee and saute the garlic for a minute. Add the chopped coriander and chillies and finally add the boiled daal.
  3. Garnish with ginger juliennes and serve hot with rotis.

My Tip:

Ghee makes this dish a very aromatic and healthy . Fried onions are relished with this. But it can be equally tasty without them.
