ABOUT Cinnamon Apple Walnut Yogurt Bowl RECIPE

After a month of festivity and over indulgence, here's a great breakfast recipe to slowly get back to healthy routine. It's a great make ahead recipe. I keep the apples ready cooked in a bowl in the fridge. All you need to do is put them into a bowl, ladle the yogurt over, sprinkle with walnuts and it's done.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2-3 apples, peeled, diced
  2. 1 tsp unsalted butter
  3. 1 tbsp brown sugar {to taste depending on sweetness of apples}
  4. 1 tsp Cinnamon powder
  5. Topping
  6. 200 gm Greek yogurt
  7. 1 tbsp honey
  8. 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted, chopped
  9. Extra honey to drizzle over

Instructions

  1. Place the butter and brown sugar in the heavy bottom pan. Stir often until melted and bubbling.
  2. Once it starts bubbling, stir in the cinnamon powder, followed by the apples.
  3. Cook over medium high heat until the apples look glossy and are slightly cooked but firm. Take off flame and allow to cool completely, then chill. You can add a dash of lime juice if you like.
  4. Whisk the yogurt with the honey until smooth.
  5. Layer a bowl with chilled cinnamon apples; ladle the honey yogurt over, scatter with toasted almonds. Drizzle over more honey if you like.
