Ingredients to make Cinnamon Apple Walnut Yogurt Bowl

  • 2-3 apples, peeled, diced
  • 1 tsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar {to taste depending on sweetness of apples}
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • Topping
  • 200 gm Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted, chopped
  • Extra honey to drizzle over

How to make Cinnamon Apple Walnut Yogurt Bowl

  1. Place the butter and brown sugar in the heavy bottom pan. Stir often until melted and bubbling.
  2. Once it starts bubbling, stir in the cinnamon powder, followed by the apples.
  3. Cook over medium high heat until the apples look glossy and are slightly cooked but firm. Take off flame and allow to cool completely, then chill. You can add a dash of lime juice if you like.
  4. Whisk the yogurt with the honey until smooth.
  5. Layer a bowl with chilled cinnamon apples; ladle the honey yogurt over, scatter with toasted almonds. Drizzle over more honey if you like.

My Tip:

I think you could do a breakfast parfait which is what I intend to do next! Use low fat yogurt {hung} if you want to trim the recipe further!
