Ingredients to make Khakhra Platter (No guilt Snack )

  • For khichadi khakhra -
  • Khichadi 1/2 cup
  • wheat flour 1 cup
  • garlic crushed (optional) 1/2 tsp
  • Ajwain 1/4 tsp
  • sesame seeds 1 tsp
  • Salt, chili powder and turmeric to taste
  • Oil while binding the flour 2 tsp
  • For spinach khakhra -
  • Washed and blended spinach leaves 7-8
  • wheat flour according to the need (for 4 khakhras 1/2 cup is enough)
  • All the above mentioned masala for khichadi khakhra.
  • For methi khakhra -
  • wheat flour and besan in 4:1 ratio (amount of wheat flour is more than the besan)
  • All the above masala according to taste and 1 tbsp crushed garlic
  • For cumin khakhra -
  • wheat flour 1/2 cup
  • cumin 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Oil to knead the flour

How to make Khakhra Platter (No guilt Snack )

  1. Knead the flour by adding masala, khichadi/ spinach/ methi/ cumin and oil.
  2. Roll the khakhra using a rolling pin.
  3. Put a tawa on the flame and roast the khakhra from one side (until that side is perfectly cooked).
  4. Now apply 3 to 4 drops oil on half cooked roti (optional for flavor).
  5. Roast it in khakhra maker.
  6. Enjoy it with tea or coffee. You can also spread salads or sprouts to it.
  7. You can half roast ( kachcha pakka) in advance and store in refrigerator.
  8. Than can full roast by putting just a drop of oil/ ghee .

My Tip:

You can spread fried veggies or salads or low-calorie paneer on khakhra to make it more filling.
