Ingredients to make Vinaigrette dressing

  • 2 tbsp - extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp - vinegar
  • 1 tsp - honey
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard sauce
  • 1 tsp - mixed herbs
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 1 - beetroot
  • carrots - 1
  • 1/2 - capsicum
  • Tomato - 1
  • Olives - 1/2 cup
  • Lettuce or cabbage - 4 leaves

How to make Vinaigrette dressing

  1. Add all the ingredients and keep mixing with a spoon or whip till it forms a uniform emulsion.
  2. Now, pour this over chopped veggies. In my salad, I use one beet, a carrot, half a capsicum, a tomato, olives, lettuce or cabbage.
  3. Mix well and serve immediately.
My Tip: Being a desi, the best way I found to mix the emulsion was to use a mathni, the one used to mix up dal or to take out ghee. Made things much easier.
