This is a recipe for calorie conscious people who would love to enjoy the delicious south Indian snack but in a little less calorific way.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Urad daal 2 cup
  2. 1/2 cup greated coconut
  3. 2 tbs chopped min
  4. 2 tbs chopped Green coriander
  5. 1 tsp chopped ginger
  6. 1 tsp chopped green chilli
  7. 1 tsp crushed black pepper
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Oil as per required

Instructions

  1. Soaked head dall 2 to 3 hours than Drain and grind black gram with very little water into a thick smooth paste.
  2. Don't add salt while grinding. You should add the salt just before frying or bake the vada. Mix roughly chop coriander ,mint , Ginger , green chilli, coconut, crushed peppercorns, salt and green chillies and mix well. Beat with a hand till light & fluffy! to check the vada formation batter in a bowl of water It should float to some extent. Heat appe pan and spray with a little oil. Drop spoonfuls of daal batter in each hole. Cook till golden. Flip and cook on other side too. Ready to serve healthy oil free medu vada .
