ABOUT Oat haleem RECIPE

An easy adaption of the traditional hyderabadi haleem

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. oats - 1 cup
  2. Mutton or chicken cubes boneless - 200 gm
  3. ginger-garlic paste - 1 heaped tbsp
  4. onions sliced - 1
  5. tomatoes - 1
  6. Chicken stock - 1 cup
  7. Fried onions - 1 tbsp
  8. Salt
  9. turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  10. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. Cashews - 4 to 5
  12. Coconut - 1 to 2 pieces
  13. Green chili paste - 1 tsp
  14. ghee as required
  15. cinnamon - 1/4 inch
  16. cardamom - 1

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add cinnamon cardamom and fry a little and then add onions and fry till golden, add ginger garlic paste, meat and cook well.
  2. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and cook till done. Later add ground paste and saute.
  3. Now add chicken stock, oats and cook till thick.
  4. Garnish with fried onions and cashews on top
