Oat haleem

Ingredients to make Oat haleem

  • oats - 1 cup
  • Mutton or chicken cubes boneless - 200 gm
  • ginger-garlic paste - 1 heaped tbsp
  • onions sliced - 1
  • tomatoes - 1
  • Chicken stock - 1 cup
  • Fried onions - 1 tbsp
  • Salt
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cashews - 4 to 5
  • Coconut - 1 to 2 pieces
  • Green chili paste - 1 tsp
  • ghee as required
  • cinnamon - 1/4 inch
  • cardamom - 1

How to make Oat haleem

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add cinnamon cardamom and fry a little and then add onions and fry till golden, add ginger garlic paste, meat and cook well.
  2. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and cook till done. Later add ground paste and saute.
  3. Now add chicken stock, oats and cook till thick.
  4. Garnish with fried onions and cashews on top
My Tip: Mutton and Chicken both require different time length to cook properly.
