Som Tam (Raw Papaya Salad)

Ingredients to make Som Tam (Raw Papaya Salad)

  • 2 cups Raw papaya
  • 8-10 cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup carrot
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp Crainder leaves + stems
  • 1 (sliced) spring onions
  • 2-3 Green Beans
  • 2 tsp Brown sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp soya sauce
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
  • 2 red chilli
  • 3 tbsp Roasted & crushed peanuts
  • 2 tbsp thai basil

How to make Som Tam (Raw Papaya Salad)

  1. Mix garlic, salt, sugar, soya sauce, lime juice red chilli flakes and pound this mixture using a mortar and pestle
  2. Take papaya, carrot, green beans, spring onion a big bowl and pour the dressing on it , give it a good mix and squish a bit with hands. Cover and refrigerate for atleast few hours so that all the flavours will blend together.
  3. Now put tomatoes, peanut, red chilles and thai basil on the top and serve on a bed of lettuce

My Tip:

1. NORMAL SUGAR has been replaced by brown sugar
