Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Ragi - 1 cup
  2. Jaggery - 1/3 rd cup gratted
  3. Banana - 2 nos medium size
  4. Raisins - 2 table spoons
  5. Coconut cut into small cubes - 2 table spoons
  6. Ghee - for frying
  7. Water - as needed to make batter

Instructions

  1. Mix ragi, jaggery, coconut, and raisins well and keep aside
  2. Mash the bananas to make a smooth paste with hand or if hard u can use the mixer
  3. Add the mashed bananas to the ragi mixture and mix well till no lumps are left
  4. Mix water little by little to make a thick dosa batter
  5. Place the appam kadai on stove and heat it
  6. Add little ghee in each of the appam holes
  7. Pour the ragi Batter to appam holes and fry on slow flame as jaggery tends to smoke at high flames
  8. Once chocolate brown turn the appams using a spoon or spatula and cook both sides
  9. Once done remove from heat and serve hot
