ABOUT Chicken Jal Fraizy in Microwave RECIPE

Jhal Fraizee/Jal fraizee, where "jal/jhal" means 'hot' and fraizee is a colloquial way of saying 'fried'. So, on the whole, this is a stir-fry chicken dish with boneless chicken and the main ingredients are onions, bell pepper, garlic and tomatoes.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken breast(boneless) : 500 gms.(Cut into thin strips for quick cooking)
  2. Capsicum : 1, cut into thin strips
  3. Ginger-garlic paste : 1 tblsp.
  4. lemon juice : 1 tblsp.
  5. Oil : 1 tblsp
  6. Salt : 1/2 tsp.
  7. Fresh Cream : 1/4 cup(optional, I didn't use it)
  8. Make into paste :
  9. Tomatoes : 3
  10. Salt : 1/2 tsp.
  11. Garam masala : 1/2 tsp.
  12. Cumin(jeera) powder : 1/2 tsp.
  13. Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp.
  14. Red Chilli Powder : 1/2 tsp. or as per taste
  15. Coriander Powder(dhaniya) : 1 tsp.
  16. Oil : 1 tblsp.

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, 1 tblsp. oil and 1/2 tsp. salt. keep aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Grind together all the ingredients listed under "make into paste" in a mixer till smooth.
  3. Microwave paste for 6 minutes in High. After 6 minutes the masala will be cooked and the oil will float.
  4. Add the marinated chicken with the marinade and striped capsicums. Microwave covered for 6 minutes again. Take out in between and stir and put back again in micro and continue.
  5. If you think your chicken is not done after 6 minutes of cooking, cook some more for another 3 minutes or so. But always stand by and check.
  6. Give standing time of 3 minutes. Add cream, if using. Mix. garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
