Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients to make Lettuce Wraps

  • For The Stuffing : 2 tsp oil
  • 2 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
  • 1 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
  • 1/4 cup chopped spring onions (with the greens)
  • 1/4 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/4 cup chopped bean sprouts
  • 1/4 cup paneer
  • 1/2 tsp lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp dry red chilli flakes (paprika)
  • salt to taste
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 1 tbsp roasted and coarsely powdered peanuts
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh basil

How to make Lettuce Wraps

  1. For the stuffing Heat the oil in a non-stick kadhai,
  2. add the garlic, ginger and spring onions and saut on a medium flame till the onions turn translucent.
  3. Add the mushrooms, carrots and cabbage
  4. mix well and saut on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes
  5. Add the bean sprouts, paneer, lemon juice, soya sauce, salt and red chilli flakes and saut on a medium flame for another minute.
  6. Keep aside to cool.
  7. Divide the stuffing into 6 equal portions and keep aside.
  8. Wash the lettuce leaves, dry them on a towel and keep aside.
  9. Place a lettuce leaf on a clean, flat surface and place a portion of the stuffing along one side of the leaf.
  10. Add ½ tsp of peanuts and ½ tsp of basil over the stuffing,
  11. roll it up gently and secure the roll by inserting a toothpick or tie using a spring onion green.
  12. Likewise make 5 more wraps
  13. Serve immediately

My Tip:

Wash the lettuce leaves well and keeo them on towel to dry at least 2 hours before making wraps otherwise it will be difficult to roll the wraps as the lettuce will be wet and moist.
