Shahi paneer

Ingredients to make Shahi paneer

  • 250 grams paneer cubes
  • 30 grams Cashew and almonds
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tsp back cumlin seeds
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 cups grated tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 2 green chilli slit
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup yogurt

How to make Shahi paneer

  1. Soak the cashew and almond in water and grind to make a paste.
  2. Heat the oil in a heavy-based pan and add cumin seeds. When the seeds begin to splutter, add in the ginger-garlic paste and brown it slightly.
  3. Add n the itomatoes and saute over medium flame, cook till the oil separates. Add the cashew and almond paste, turmeric, coriander, salt, chilli powder and garam masala and sauté over low or medium flame, till the oil separates once again.
  4. Add green chillies along with 2 cubes of crushed paneer, saute and cook. Mix in water and bring to a boil. Leave this to simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Now add yogurt and then paneer cubes, let this simmer for about 2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with coriander.
