Ingredients to make Steamed fish,in banana leaf.

  • Fish,of your choice.2
  • coriander & mint leaves 1/2 cup
  • chilli powder 1tsp
  • coriander powder 1/4 tsp
  • turmeric powder 2 pinch
  • garlic ,chopped 1tsp
  • Green chillies 2
  • salt
  • oil one drop.
  • lemon juice 1/2 tsp.
  • For Salad
  • chick peas 1/2 cup
  • tomato 1
  • onion 1
  • Green chillies 1
  • Capsicun 1/2
  • carrot 1/2
  • salt
  • coriander leaves.

How to make Steamed fish,in banana leaf.

  1. For the fish .Grind all ingredients, given into a fine paste. Put lines on the fish with a knife.. Apply masala inside and outside of fish. Allow it to marinate for a while.
  2. Take 2 small pieces of banana,heat up on stovetop,to make it loose. Keep one fish on each leaf ,fold it.steam for 8 min,on one side,turn it & steam the other side for 8 min. we can steam the two fishes together. Take it out . serve hot,with salad.
  3. For salad .Soak chick peas for 4 hrs. Boil it with salt and turmeric. Chop onion,tomato,chillies,carrot,capsicum and coriander leaves. mix everything with chick peas. Stir well. Add a little lemon juice and olive oil.

My Tip:

Select only big fish for steaming. That s more tasty. Cooking time differs with the type of fish.
